Profile Defenders (Richart Ruddie) Link to "Pattern of Defrauding Courts' In the Name of Cyberbully Defense

Is it OK to break the law to fight an alleged cyberbully?  The answer appears to be yes for a certain online reputation management firm.

Paul Alan Levy of Public Citizen Law Group says it best:

"Profile Defenders, which has been linked to a pattern of defrauding courts to get material removed from the Internet altogether or, at least, suppressed in search engine results, has refused to comment directly on the spate of articles describing its modus operandi.  However, a press release issued yesterday suggests the direction of its defense:  they are a bulwark against cyberbullying.

But if its all about cyberbullying, why not give notice to the speakers so they can defend themselves against judicial suppression?"

Unclean Hands

Profile Defenders has unclean hands given Richart Ruddie's involvement with JRR Funding/ Einstein Structured Settlements, which has been used over and over again to brandjack competitors and a promote Rip Off Reports and other complaint sites reporting about competitors in the structured settlement secondary market as well as people that call them out.

Pee for The Tiller Man | Ruddie Chart is Off Course

Richart Ruddie of Profile Defenders,  JRR Funding, Annuity Sold,  Uber Funding LLC, Einstein Structured Settlements, was sued for Conspiracy and Deceptive Trade practices in 2012, over an alleged brandjack that Ruddie admits to.

Seems like "Chart" hasn't learned much. Here the arrogant Ruddie brags about doing dirty work that got his client sued in a January 2016 blog post:

"In fact I am such a good brander and marketer that I had a client rank them for a famous celebrity and did such a great job that I took over all the rankings on page 1. The best part is that the client wasn't supposed to be doing that and the celebrity sued him, myself, and a few others. It's a great branding point though showcasing how good I really am at what I do for... clients".

Clearly Richart Ruddie marvels in his association with dirty work.  Besides the Einstein Structured Settlements brandjacking machine,

Postscript : In January 2018, JRR Funding and associated companies were banned from doing business in Maryland for 7 years for fraud. Said Attorney General Brian Frosh, "We will continue to fight to stop predatory companies who use deceptive sales tactics and other misrepresentations to take advantage of vulnerable Marylanders.”

Richart Ruddie Sued for Conspiracy and Deceptive Trade Practices in 2012

Richart Ruddie of JRR Funding and Profile Defenders (NuProfile) was sued in August 2012 by Las Vegas sports betting giant Bill Walters as part of litigation against companies and individuals that Walters said put up phony websites to trick gamblers into thinking they were buying betting tips from him.

Claims alleged against Richart Ruddie in the lawsuit included:

  • False Designation of Origin
  • Violation of Rights of Publicity
  • Deceptive Trade Practices
  • Civil Conspiracy
  • Unjust Enrichment
  • Conversion

Richart Ruddie and Michael Cooper, among the Defendants in the case, are listed as managers and members of Cooper's Picks, an online sports betting site, according to annual reports filed with the Florida Secretary of State at all relevant times Download Coopers Picks FLA Secretary of State Annual Report 2012 and still are today.

Walters filed suit in U.S. District Court for Nevada and sought a temporary restraining order to have the sites shut down, which was granted. The matter was settled in 2014, according to Court records.

Walters said in the lawsuit he earned hundreds of millions of dollars from his sports betting and gaming investments and that he does not share his betting picks with the public or others in the sports betting industry.

In line 32 of the of the pleadings Walters alleged that "upon information and belief, Defendant Richart Ruddie has criminal records in the States of Maryland, Virginia and Florida".

Clearly Ruddie has a history of being associated with "brandjacking" even before his involvement with Einstein Structured Settlements, which burst onto the scene in October 2012.

As I have clearly documented, Owings Mills bred Richart Ruddie has been involved with JRR Funding and Einstein Structured Settlements, a "master class" in the brandjacking of competing settlement purchasers, generation of crap content and false and misleading advertising, including the use of fake names and aliases and fake academic credentials. Other JRR Funding associated properties Edison Funding and Greenspring Funding use fake BBB seals. A number of companies in the structured settlement secondary market have been the financial beneficiaries of this.

Elsewhere on the internet there is evidence of Ruddie's threats of a DDOS attack on a website in 2011. 

Also in July 2012, Park Avenue Funding (PAF), a mortgage investment firm, sued Profile Defenders and its principals, David Lynn and Richart Ruddie, in Superior Court of Ocean County, New Jersey Docket L01771. In the lawsuit, PAF asserted that it hired Profile Defenders to help it manage its internet reputation. According to the suit, Profile Defenders, rather than assisting PAF, used confidential information that PAF provided to it to blackmail PAF in an attempt to extort money from them with threats to further damage their online reputation. PAF filed the lawsuit to illustrate the dangers of providing confidential information to unknown "web companies" who claim to do "reputation cleanup" or otherwise monitor your "internet presence." Bruno de Vinck, Officer of PAF, said, "These firms can very well turn out to be the client's worst enemies that they actually brought upon themselves."

In 2021, this post was the subject of a fake DMCA complaint, along with another post concerning reputation manager Richart Ruddie's "TextBook Frauds cited in Utah Law Journal" from 2020 that both (1) plagiarized our work and (2) the plagiarized content appeared on Richart Ruddie's own blog on the same blogging platform with a backdated published date to support the fake DMCA. Our post was subsequently restored following our discovery of the attempted scam of the blogging platform and our DMCA counter claim as the original author and publisher.

Einstein Structured Settlements "Content Jesters" Not Structured Settlement Industry Leader

Deluded self proclaimed structured settlement industry leaders Einstein Structured Settlements offer more social media road kill this week:

"The aspects of such a settlement that make it a good deal for the insurer are what can make it a very bad deal for a defendant. In a structured settlement, a defendant does not receive a sum of cash. Instead, he or she receives a payment arrangement called an annuity".  (emphasis added)

"The cost of a structured settlement annuity, even one that is theoretically worth a several hundred thousand dollars, will usually be a fraction of that of a cash settlement. The annuity is actually an investment; much of the money that will be paid out will be generated by interest that is similar to bank interest or by a stock market index"

Clearly Einstein Structured Settlements and those that write for them haven't got a clue of what they are talking about.  They are out of touch with reality. Einstein Drum rhymes with

Einstein's constant "drumming" makes a lot of noise on the Internet.  But the output of these  "content jesters" is unfortunately often so poor,  in my professional opinion, that it is of little use to structured settlement annuitants.  After two years on the scene, you would hope that these folks would show that they've learned something.  But they simply don't care.

Postscript 11/25/2014

Instead of something intelligent, Richart Ruddie and cos. response to this post was a nonsensical personal attack non sequitur on an Alaska public news site related to ELNY victim Reggie Kelley's letter about his annuity and the expression of bewilderment as to why I haven't referred any factoring business to them which included a link promoting Einstein's illegitimate claims of industry leadership.

I would never refer business to a company like Einstein Structured Settlements whose 2012 entry to the structured settlement secondary market was punctuated with intentional deception on consumers, claiming that Ryan Einstein a/k/a poker player Ryan Blank, graduated with an LLM/Phd  from Yale when they knew it not to be true.  Here's a reminder of Einstein's  intentional deception on consumers that is a major reason I do not do business is with Einstein and why I would I never recommend them. 

Judging by the amount of negative SEO I've uncovered tied to Einstein, those controlling Einstein Structured Settlements are obsessed with me as much as they are obsessed with their own competitors, which I am not.  One can only surmise that they're still "faking it" because they've yet to "make it" in structured settlements.    After two years one wonders if they ever will rise above the lowest rung.
