Here's the irony
April 2008
This author re-broadcasts an April 13, 2008 Structured Settlements 4Real blog called "Is Cash Now for Structured Settlements a Fraud on Consumers?" on Speaking of Settlements, a channel on the Legal Broadcast Network (LBN). It is currently the most popular blog post on that LBN channel in terms of cumulative views.
January 2009
LBN CEO and interviewer Mark Wahlstrom does an excellent job interviewing Earl Nesbitt, General Counsel of the National Association of Settlement Purchasers (NASP) and gets him to make an admission in a recorded video that cash now isn't really cash now, which supports that cash now advertising is fraud.

This author, John Darer informs Wahlstrom that banner ads from factoring companies are appearing on the Settlement Channel, another LBN channel. Download John Darer email to Mark Wahlstrom 2-17-2009 re banner ads
Wahlstrom responds that LBN is trying to tweak the filters (see below about filters).

A Banner ad for "cash now pusher" Peachtree Settlement Funding appears on Speaking of Settlements promoting the very thing that Earl Nesbitt said in January 2008 is not true. Download Peachtree Cash Now Speaking of Settlements Website hosts use banner ads and other means to monetize their websites. Comments
I consider Mark Wahlstrom a friend. While I respect and admire what he's built with his business, I'm having a tough time reconciling the irony that on the one hand LBN helps prove the cash now fraud, hosts content that makes the case supporting the case of fraud and THEN hosts advertising that is known not to be true, perpetuating the fraud (from a company that has been known for over the top discount rates) and possibly even makes money from it (from the banner ads).
I assume that Mark has no direct contract with Peachtree. Many of the banner ad aggregators match ads to content (contextual advertising). The site owners such as LBN however, can filter out unwanted ad content.
One of the reasons that Structured Settlements 4Real initially decided to have no structured settlement related banner ads or pay per click ads is that this author did not want the cash now pushers to benefit from our content, nor did we want the perception of a conflict of interest. When Structured Settlements 4Real was started in November 2005 splog sites and made for Google Adsense websites were everywhere. It was very difficult for consumers to locate legitimate sources of structured settlement information. We sought to change that.
