Drop in Structured Settlement Annuity Sales? Not Prudential!

Seems like more and more personal injury plaintiffs and their attorneys want a "piece of the rock" these days. Prudential Structured Settlements announced to its distribution network that it had its best sales quarter since it began offering structured annuities (a time period going back over 20 years!) 

The results are a testimony to Prudential management's continued commitment to the market and a  broad sign that despite low interest rates that there is a keen demand for structured settlements as plaintiffs, trial lawyers (and investors in the case of the secondary market) seek a stable growth alternative.

  • New York Insurance Advertising law requires the full name of the Insurer to be listed along with the city and state of the principal office. Stating that you represent these fine companies using Insurance company logos without the preceding information are also illegal
  • When it comes to settlement documents it is the ultimate responsibility of the lawyers or claims adjusters who receive input concerning the structured settlement aspects of the documents to actually read the entire document, exercise independent thought and advise their clients properly
