Who Was Buddy Holly?
Buddy Holly was a legendary and influential rock and roll pioneer from Lubbock Texas, whose life tragically ended on " The Day The Music Died" February 3, 1959, along with fellow artists Ricardo Valenzuela (Ritchie Valens) and J.P. Richardson ('The Big Bopper) when their small plane crashed in a snow storm shortly after take off near Clear Lake Iowa. The 1987 movie La Bamba featured Marshall Crenshaw as Buddy Holly, who delivered a memorable version of Crying, Hoping, Waiting, The Beatles also covered Cryin Hoping Waiting in the 1960s.
