There's no way to sugar coat just how bad and unreliable Annuity.org is if you are looking for accurate information about structured settlements.
If you go to Annuity.org expect to receive road kill like this epic failure by staff writer Alanna Ritchie:
"A personal injury settlement is a type of lawsuit where a monetary value is awarded due to the negligence of another party. There are many steps along the way to actually receiving a payment like filing the lawsuit and process of negation".
- A personal injury settlement is not a type of lawsuit. A lawsuit is not a settlement.
- There is no award with a settlement because it is a negotiated compromise. A jury does not award a settlement. A judge does not award a settlement, although in certain types of case a judge must approve the settlement.
- Classical negation is an operation on one logical value, typically the value of a proposition, that produces a value of true when its operand is false and a value of false when its operand is true. So, if statement A is true, then ¬A (pronounced "not A") would therefore be false; and conversely, if ¬A is false, then A would be true.
I wrote William Skyrm and Jim Goodman at CBC Settlement Funding, members of the National Association of Settlement Purchasers, and offered them the opportunity to comment on December 15, 2016. Their lack of response suggests that CBC Settlement Funding, Skyrm and Goodman, do not to give a "rat's tuchas" about accuracy of their business partners. As long as it generates leads. What a pity!
