NASP member DRB Capital not only seeks to benefit from leads generated from scraped court records, but court records posted up on the internet for marketing purposes on a website called Sell My Annuity (dot) Net. The website is registered to Steven Mackey of MadValorem in Boynton Beach, Florida. I made a call to 866-484-4463, the toll-free number listed on the site and the person who answered mentioned that they were a direct funder. I asked him one more question and the person hung up. Not a very good sign.
I subsequently received this voice mail l from Barry a representative of DRB Capital on August 6, 2015 , in which he clearly confirmed it was from DRB Capital/ Sell My Annuity
Subtle as a bull in a china shop, a half-hearted attempt is made to disguise who the annuitants are using the first name and an initial, but the complete name and the index number is displayed in the court record used for marketing purposes to compete against Seneca One, JG Wentworth, Peachtree, Settlement Capital, Novation Settlement Solutions and Stone Street Capital.
What is to be gained from such business conduct, except profit for DRB Capital and the affiliate marketing shmucks who are potentially putting these annuitants' lives in danger, potentially letting all their neighbors and relatives know what they've got as well as every lunatic on the internet?
What is deceptive about how the documents are posted is that they are displayed under the heading "Structured Settlement Transactions", an intentional misrepresentation on SellMyAnnuity.Net, because none of what is displayed is a structured settlement transaction; structured settlement being clearly defined under the Internal Revenue Code. All of what is displayed are structured settlement factoring transactions, clearly defined under the Internal Revenue Code, as anyone who is an officer of NASP such as "Jason S." should know.
While affiliate marketing is one way that cash now pushers generate leads, surely it doesn't have to be done at the expense of safety and privacy of the consumers that companies like DRB Capital are targeting.
