Structured Settlement Privacy | Register for National "Do-Not-Call" to Deter Cash Now Hounds

Court record sniffing structured settlement factoring companies, or their surrogates, can obtain information about any structured settlement that has required court approval and has not been filed under seal.

The same companies can target structured settlement annuitants who have previously sold their structured settlements and obtain addresses and phone numbers and other information useful to them prior to hitting you up in  an unsolicited phone call.

The National Do Not Call Registry gives you a choice about whether to receive telemarketing calls at home 

Once you register your phone number, telemarketers covered by the National Do Not Call Registry have up to 31 days from the date you register to stop calling you.  When wrapping up a settlement with a client, the settlement planner and/or plaintiff attorney should discuss privacy issues with the plaintiff and perhaps should include information about the Do Not Call list.

NOTE: Companies, including settlement purchasers with which you do business may also continue to  call, unless you have asked them to stop calling you.  If you have asked them to stop calling, please keep a record of the date you made the request and include that information in the comment section of any complaint you submit against that company.
