It has become a real national study group, full of open information sharing, willingness to help others and a respectful discussion of intellectual ideas, not a group of disgruntled structured settlement producers pitching the single claimant QSF "ginsu". Having returned from my first SSP conference in 8 years, I would like to encourage the cynics and the timid to attend. The meeting was efficient , with subjects broken down into 30 minute sessions*. If that wasn't enough to keep you awake and on your toes, even though the Vdara is a non-casino hotel, the notorious air flow systems designed to keep gamblers awake are obviously put to good use with settlement planners! The SSP meeting also had a positive environmental footprint in that it was paperless.
if you follow the below link to my post Society of Settlement Planners | Is It Time For a Fresh Look? you can learn more about the agenda of this years' meeting.
* another industry colleague who attended last year but was not able to attend this year remarked to me that packing alot of information into efficient 30 minute sessions made for a very effective learning experience for him.
