What is A.M. Best Client Recommended Expert Mark?

First introduced in 2005, the BestMark program of A.M. Best is an important way of validating a structured settlements firm or settlement planning firm's credentials and reputation.  What sets A.M.Best Mark apart is that in order to qualify for a listing,  no fewer than eight professional references must be submitted , independently contacted, with the responses of the references reviewed by A.M. Best. Those professional references have to check out.

So the folks that form the basis for being listed are people that a firm or expert service provider is actually working with.

A.M. Best is one the oldest and most respected rating firms in the United States. The A.M.Best vetting process for qualification to be listed in Best's Expert Services Providers makes it far superior to sites that (1) don't verify whether or not the reviewer is an actual client, and (2) those sites which permit anonymous postings while disclaiming liability, are susceptible to being fabricated positive or negative.

  • New York Insurance Advertising law requires the full name of the Insurer to be listed along with the city and state of the principal office. Stating that you represent these fine companies using Insurance company logos without the preceding information are also illegal
  • When it comes to settlement documents it is the ultimate responsibility of the lawyers or claims adjusters who receive input concerning the structured settlement aspects of the documents to actually read the entire document, exercise independent thought and advise their clients properly
