The "defamation" of structured settlements by reporters of the convicted Ponzi schemer Scott Rothstein story continues with an ABA Journall staff writer's "seagull job" Ex Rothstein Lawyer Pleads Guilty, Allegedly Wrote Letter re Name Partner’s $1.2B ‘Investment’ Scam dated June 14, 2011
Martha E. Neil, a legal affairs writer/online fro Law News Now, could have simply read the criminal complaint aginst Rothstein in which there was no mention of structured settlements instead of dredging up old and inaccurate information.
To anyone who actually knows what a structured settlement is, what Scott Rothstein peddled could never have been structured settlements. Kendall Coffey who famously brokered a solution to the Elian Gonzalez case and the "hanging chad" vote recount in the 2000 election blew it in 2009 as his misuse of the term "structured settlement" in a complaint ignited a chain of misinformation about structured settlement in connection with Rothstein. This was then picked up by the South Florida press and the FBI and now Martha Neil has caught the bug.
