"Today I lost a friend. Today I lost a mentor, a strategical thinker, a confidant and someone who shared a common philosophy for truly putting the injured party and their needs first and rest will work itself out later. I am fortunate that my life and his intersected, if only for a brief four years, as during that time I learned more about this business and the necessary strategy for success through Rich than I have learned in a lifetime. While Rich may have seemed to be "all business all the time" that was simply not the case. He was a loving husband and the proudest father and grandfather I have met. I could probably tell you the GPA of both his son and daughter as well as their spouse's if I were quizzed! May your life's work live on, may your mission find a strong sense of renewal and resolve and may your higher power keep you. The world knows the civil justice system lost a true advocate and one who was not afraid (in any regard) to shake things to their very core for the greater good. Today I lost a friend and my heart is broken".

On behalf of The Halpern Group and Richard G. Halpern, thank you John for your kind words. Rich thought of you as a friend. Like him you always called it as you saw it. Although as you stated, brokers had many opinions of Richard -- good and bad -- no one could ever question his passion for the civil justice system and injured victims.
We at The Halpern Group are firmly committed to doing what Richard taught us so well, which is continuing the solid dedication to our clients and providing cutting edge ideas to fit their lives.
We are also continuing his proud tradition of helping AAJ and other state components with the determination and unwaivering faith he always showed.
Thank you again for your Tribute. I'm sure whereever Rich is, he is negotiating and has smiled at your kind words.
