New York City Area Structured Settlements...Who Writes Structured Settlement Annuities in New York City?

Which insurance companies write structured settlement annuities in Bronx , Brooklyn, Kings, Queens and Staten Island, Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester County, Rockland County,  Orange County, Fairfield County (CT) and other counties in and around New York City?

The following companies are the primary writers of structured settlement annuities for New York cases.

  2. American International Life Assurance Company of New York Home Office: New York, NY
  3. Hartford Life Insurance Company   Home Office: Hartford, CT
  4. John Hancock Life Insurance Company Home Office: Boston, MA

  6. Metropolitan Life Insurance Company   Home Office: New York, NY

  8. Pacific Life and Annuity Company   Home Office: Newport Beach, CA

The above list of New York admitted structured settlement annuity issuers apply to settlements only. Cases in Fairfield County, CT would substitute Allstate Life Insurance Company and American General Life Insurance Company for numbers 1 and 2 respectively. A limited number of insurance companies underwrite structured settlements compared to other types of annuities.

  • New York Insurance Advertising law requires the full name of the Insurer to be listed along with the city and state of the principal office. Stating that you represent these fine companies using Insurance company logos without the preceding information are also illegal
  • When it comes to settlement documents it is the ultimate responsibility of the lawyers or claims adjusters who receive input concerning the structured settlement aspects of the documents to actually read the entire document, exercise independent thought and advise their clients properly
  • Be aware that financial advisors use of testimonials is prohibited or restricted
  • Most states require that Testimonials represent the CURRENT opinion of the person who made the testimonial. Be prepared to back it up.
