After the media excoriated AIG for incentive trips as if they were the second coming of Dennis Koslowski, can one believe that cash now pusher Imperial Structured Settlements is actually flaunting its incentive trip to the Gansevoort Hotel in South Beach?
According to a story which appeared in The Centre Daily Times and the Miami Herald, Imperial Structured Settlements, LLC, will be providing each employee a trip for two at the Gansevoort South with oceanfront rooms and lavish dining accommodations.
Imperial Structured Settlements' Deborah Benaim was quoted “This is management’s way of giving thanks to our employees and their dedication towards achieving a milestone. The Gansevoort South has spectacular views of the ocean, bay, and shining city skyline. The landscape showcases three oceanfront pools including a rooftop pool, an expansive infinity-edge pool, a family friendly south pool, a mezzanine with private cabanas, and an exclusive oceanfront beach club. All of our employees will be able to find a space they feel comfortable in.” While hot stone massages are not offered by the spa at the hotel, naked wrap peels are according to spa management.
One wonders how much of the cost of this lavish event comes out of the pockets of tort victims? How much of their total volume was represented by purchases of AIG structured settlement payment rights by Imperial Structured Settlements, LLC based on a fear incentive?
Should one seriously question the lack of discretion exhibited by Ms. Benaim and the management of Imperial Structured Settlements to flaunt such a trip when their business is all about paying discounted sums of money to tort victims who need cash so badly so they don't lose their homes ( to wit, to quote Benaim "we (Imperial) have helped people of every age and in a very wide range of situations, real victims of life with heart-wrenching stories. We have personally telephoned landlords and banks to keep people in their homes") AND and the nation is in financial crisis?
Will we see another Bill Hemmer expose?
