On a warm summer's evenin at a fund raiser in New York City
I met up with the bundler; the slippery little sneak
So we both took turns a starin at the National Enquirer
Til boredom overtook us, and he began to speak.
He said son I've made a life, out of "buying people's business"
And isn't my check in the mail, the sight they want to see?
So if you don't mind my sayin, it's what they call fund raising

So when we read about old Johnny, that's Johnny Lyin' Edwards
Said how's "his vouch" workin for you, now his cheatin's come to light?
And the night got deathly quiet, and his face lost all expression
