This author has noted the beginnings of a paradigm shift in the structured settlement industry.
Are hard core "plaintiff structured settlement" zealots shifting gears and moving towards the center, or is it just a marketing ploy?
Forge Consulting, LLC has long marketed itself as plaintiff exclusive and even "plantiff exclusive" At various times it has called itself NYSTLA's only plaintiff exclusive structured settlement company. Only last year one of its principals made the outrageous claim to Rhode Island Trial Lawyers that it was the only plaintiff exclusive company in the country. Those absolute claims raised credibility questions last year when it was discovered that its principals signed declarations to the United States Department of Justice attesting to substantial defense work at the time they marketed that they were plaintiff or "plantiff" exclusive. Now the company holds itself out as just "plaintiff focused".
Forge Consulting's move follows that of Settlement Professionals, Inc. which markets itself as "plaintiff loyal". Will others follow the shift to the center?
Other indicia of the Forge shift are its web site links to:
American Society of Hospital Risk Management (ASHRM)
Claimspages Dot Com
Crawford & Company
Defense Research Institute
RIMS
Alliance of American Insurers
One can observe that none of these organizations linked from Forge Consulting could be confused with having a "plaintiff focus".
