It is a given that selling your structured settlement payment rights will not get you all of your money now or ever, because in determining how much to pay you, the future payment rights are first discounted (by the purchaser) to present value and costs are thrown in to the calculation.
Because the process of obtaining a qualified order takes 60-90 days if the Court approves the transaction at least one company is advertising that it will give cash advances. Creative? Yes Fills a need? Yes But at what price, or better said at what cost of money to the tort victim?
A sure way for tort victims to overpay for liquidity is to wait until the last minute.
