With Patrick Hindert it's the case of "hand bags at dawn! "I appreciate Patrick's comments concerning my candidacy for the NSSTA Board (and his right to say them) even though they are "just a bit" over the top don't you think?
Patrick Hindert is extremely passionate about the factoring issue and I am clearly NOT the candidate for HIS agenda. If your beliefs are aligned with Patrick Hindert's on the factoring agenda being part of NSSTA agenda, then I am simply not the candidate for you.
Most NSSTA members are familiar with the fact that I was a Founding member of the Society of Settlement Planners. I joined simply because I felt, at the time, it was a good education and networking opportunity. Like many others, including fellow candidate, friend and NSSTA member Mark Wahlstrom, I later chose to resign because sadly that organization ceased to exist for anyone but the fringe factor and unacceptably, after tapping out members for cash, aligned itself with factoring companies to keep it afloat. It became apparent that centrists had no place in the SSP so I decided to throw my energy into the NSSTA and I have.
Regrettably, former NSSTA President Patrick Hindert has, for the past few years, relentlessly pushed the factoring company agenda at NSSTA and SSP to anyone who will listen. Tonight I learned that he was even introducing the JG Wentworth representatives around at the March 7th SSP meeting in Washington DC. That's right! The company that has single handedly done the most to impede NSSTA members visibility to consumers on the Internet. One of its alter egos is still marketing via a web page called Certified Structured Settlement Consultant. Despite ample opportunity and all "the web 2.0 tools" available to him, Patrick Hindert has not publicly come out against factoring company business practices.
In my opinion, neither NSSTA nor its members can support member or non member company business practices that continually violate our bylaws and harm our industry's reputation. My incisive posts concerning such business practices speak for themselves. Someone has to speak up on these issues and right now it's Mark Wahlstrom, John Darer and Ringler with the loudest voices. Anyone with any questions should read the posts and the evidence to support my comments. I am open to any questions concerns or comments from NSSTA members.
John,
I enjoy, and agree, with your Blog commentary. You'd be a great addition to the NSSTA Board. Good Luck, and how can I help?
