Amit Laufer's "The Shocking Truth About Personal Injury Settlements", posted on his blog, Annuity & Cash For Structured Settlements, is really low voltage stuff. Although Amit Laufer is a prolific writer and has an MBA, it is evident that he has no practical experience in the structured settlement or personal injury field, no insurance license, no securities license or affiliation with a broker-dealer and no license to act as a financial adviser.
Laufer suggests in hisblog that your attorneys " know you are in a vulnerable situation and due to the large sums of money involved you will not notice how they skim hundreds of thousands of dollars just under your nose". He later suggests that you " let a very experienced paralegal specializing in personal injury claims, guide you with a step by step process and save you a bundle of money". He then suggests that you consult with an attorney specializing in personal injury claims (the same people that he earlier suggests are skimming money from under your nose).
Laufer is probably not qualified to give any of this advice. He lists his profession as "netpreneur" and it's apparent that he's shilling for the paralegal Stephanie L. Woolford's book as well as Tony Bahu's book "Shocking Secrets of Annuities" which I've read and also has little if anything to do with structured settlements or personal injury claims. Laufer has also written pieces such as "Variable Annuties v Fixed Annuities" for which I also question his expertise without the relevant licensing and experience. Some of the stuff he writes would likely not make it past a broker-dealer's compliance department (e.g. "variable annuities resembles mutual funds")
and Amit, please take a writing course!
