According to a Compete.com analysis for December 2008, the structured settlement industry websites picked up by Compete.com averaged 766.80 unique visitors. Removing the top two structured Compete.com ranked settlement industry websites that skew the results, drops the average BY 52.2% to only 400.33 unique visitors .
Some structured settlement industry members traffic is so poor that the unique traffic measure is reduced to negligible after you discount the number of people in the company or association who are reasonably presumed to visit their company or association website at least once per month.
It's important to have a web presence in today's market. If you build it people will come, BUT your website must look good and contain quality accurate content that is updated regularly. Thinking you can just slap something together and leave it there, or write one ranting blog post every few months, is wishful thinking. It doesn't work. It's like watering and fertilizing your garden. If you tend to it all seems to grow.
Although cash now pusher JG Wentworth suffered a 93.1% drop in traffic for 2008, according to Compete.com, it had over 20,000 unique visitors in December 2008 AND the key words " structured settlement", "structured settlements" and "annuity" have driven 16.17% of its traffic for the last 3 months. Please make a note of this. because these words are not preceded by the qualifier "sell" or "buy". This begs the question of what JG Wentworth is doing with those names, who are they giving them to and for what price or quid pro quo?
